The Howard White Classic is a nationally recognized youth sports and community event founded on the legacy of Howard “H” White—basketball legend, mentor, and longtime Nike/Jordan Brand leader. Celebrating 15 years in Hampton, Virginia, the Classic brings together emerging track & field athletes, top basketball talent, and powerful community programming designed to inspire the next generation.
This year’s event kicks off with doors opening at 8:00 AM.Track & field events begin at 9:00 AM and run through 4:00 PM, showcasing some of the region’s strongest high school competitors. At 12:00 PM, guests are invited to a special event introduction featuring Howard White and council members from the Hampton Roads area—including the Mayor of Hampton—honoring the mission, history, and future of the Classic.
